Cellbiocan and Sistemas Genómicos, together to push forward on the genetic analysis field

Cellbiocan, biotechnology company of Tirso Group, and Sistema Genómicos, leader in genetic codes research and ultra sequencing genomes, met with the regional vice president, Eva Diaz Tezanos, and Sodercan director, Salvador Blanco, to introduce them a new collaborative project aimed at both the development of "SENTIR", which is based on a biosensor that quantifies tumor cells, as a broader and more ambitious in the field of analysis aspects genetic research.

The aim of the joint project is to implement technologies that facilitate early diagnosis and improve the quality of life of cancer patients.

Diaz Tezanos has ensured that this project fits with the measures advocated from the Government of Cantabria, aimed at "strengthening research, biomedicine and biotechnology" and also she has highlighted the "maximum" support to region companies that "build synergies and establish partnerships with other business groups. "

According to the CEO of Sistemas Genómicos, Lorena Saus, the Government welcome has been "very good", because "we are all pursuing the same goal which is to implement technologies that help improve the health of patients ".

For the Cellbiocan's CEO, Javier Gonzalez, this initiative is a further step in the cooperation of both companies that will "take advantage of years of research and work done by Sistemas Genomicos in this field and realize the knowledge transfer to our region."
