DISMANTLING CEMEX Concrete PLANT

Dismantling a concrete plant, owned by CEMEX, in Guarnizo (Cantabria). The facility consisted of a kneader, hoppers and a conveyor.

For these scrapping jobs, it has been used a backhoe with long reaching shear. To lower the cement deposits, it has been needed a special team provided with oxyfuel cutters, who has worked from a lifting platform of 32 meters high, with the support of a self-propelled crane. The cut pieces were loaded to transport truck for further recovery.

SCRAPPING BRINE TANK IN SOLVAY

November, 2015

Scrapping an old brine tank of carbon steel 10 meters high and 14 meters in diameter.

This deposit was within the facilities of the company SOLVAY, in the town of Barreda (Cantabria).

The work has been done with hydraulic shears coupled to backhoe. The difficulty of the work lay in the existence of hydrogen pipes very close to the tank, forcing a demolition directed inwardly thereof, necessarily maintaining the next pipe in service. The scrapped tank portions were cut by torch and loaded on trucks for transport and subsequent recovery.

Demolition FCC provisional overpass

July, 2015

Demolition of a provisional overpass over the river Pámanes (PK 9 + 400) of the Solares - La Encina highway. The company contractor of the work has been FCC Construccion SA. The overpass was built for use as an interim step during the construction of the motorway. Once this work ended, we proceed to demolition. This is a step composed of three concrete beams (80 cm thick), with a reinforced concrete slab (30 cm thick), 6 m wide and 10 m long. The weight of the structure was 56 tons.

DEMOLITION OF THE UTE LA ENCINA BRIDGES

September, 2014 to May, 2015

This project involved the demolition of all underpasses and major structures, such as viaducts and overpasses. This job entailed overcoming many technical difficulties, as the bridge was located in a protected area and with many secondary and national highways with continuous traffic.
